Today had me reconsidering whether travelling by cruise ship is right for us at this time. An excursion day. After a nice onboard breakfast of french toast we hopped on the tour bus at 9am and our guide Michael took us to 2 castles, 1 residence and to lunch. Firstly a 90 minute drive up the coast to Hamlets Castle (Kronborg). A magnificent place on the coast. Nice sunrise at 6am, watching the boat move towards the Oresund Bridge (which connects Copenhagen, Denmark and Malmo, Sweden). By 7am we were in port near the little mermaid. Walked to the glyptotek as we had decided that was the one thing in Copenhagen we missed last time and wanted to do the most. Today was much better. After finding out details of where we would be docking today, we researched Bornholm and found a local bus timetable. From Svareneke (where we docked) we caught the 9am local bus to Hammershus (arrived at 10am). Saw beautiful towns on the way. 15 minutes until 10am, we are sitting in the Rose Garden of Rosenborg Slot. We had a beautiful breakfast at the hotel, very thin pancakes, jam and scrambled eggs. Fighting the urge to take the easy way out we headed east on foot, walking through cobbled streets past uni buildings and the round tower.
