Hi guys We're back in contact.Internet access isnt great and we've been busy so lets update you....
Friday 5th Feb we spent in Luang Prabang where we toured the Wat Phou temple and the palace and then discovered a great community project. So we took advantage of this and ran back to our lovely guesthouse and cleared out lots of clothes from our backpacks....I had so many socks and long sleeve tops that I was never going to wear....they wont be missed. We bought some books and placed them in a book bag. These get taken along with our surplus clothes to the remote villages on the Mekong and distributed.Laos has no books .so if anyone plans on coming out BRING BOOKS ! we also bought 30 exercise books and pens for our school visit as pressies. And they invited us back to watch a show the children were putting on in the evening. The afternoon was spent at Kouang Si waterfalls ...beautiful and Rob had a swim and a swing..the video will be available for viewing on our return due to the slow speed this site has for uploading photos.Had a fab last evening with our Aussie friends Roland and Loretta who had arrived that afternoon and Mary and Catherine from the states. It was great to catch up but sad to leave them..(saying that Roland is ALWAYS on FB so we seem to spend quite a long time chatting)Hopefully they will come and visit in the Uk and u guys will help us show them a great time !We got up at 5 and went to feed the monks on the street sticky rice and bananas ...interesting.The following day we got a flight to Paxse where we met up with 2 Swiss Marina and Dominic (hmmmm thats expensive !).Great plan as now we were 4 people taking on the Tuk Tuk mafia at the bus station !!!Spotted a french couple getting out of a bus so grabbed them too....greater bargaining power...none of us wanted to share a truck with 48 cambodians 20 chickens and a lot of ducks....so on we went to Champassak.
