After our extremely long 8 hour drive today back from Port Lincoln we finally reached the wicked camper depot to drop our van off and head to our next flight from Adelaide to the Gold Coast. We arrived 4 hours early so weren't able to check in, we were so anxious about the long drive home we left at 6am to ensure we got back in time we left almost to much time! Our flight was at 7:10pm and we were at the airport at 3.30pm.. better to be early than late we thought haha! We used our time up by looking at Ryans Go pro footage of the Shark diving which was fun anyway!
Finally our time to board the plane, a 2 hr flight and we'd be at the Gold Coast woo! We arrived safely just very tired as you can imagine and made our way to our accommodation.
We are staying in a Hostel with help x. We both have to do 2.5 hours a day for free accommodation. It's very central, our room is basic and small but barable and the showers are very hot and powerful and our bathroom is right outside. The managers are very friendly and make us feel very welcome they even invited us over for pizza the second night we arrived. Our jobs so far have consisted of cleaning the pool, room changeovers, cleaning the walls, moving and shifting dump, cleaning out the garage and cleaning out the lights. We've quite enjoyed ourselves so far and can work together and with another lovely lady Ann. So it's a nice environment to work in. We have been working from 9am and then have from 11.30 to go out for the day to the beach and still get time to explore. They are flexible too as we've asked to start at 7am tomorrow as we want to head to Surfers paradise Beach by 10.30am ish so we can get a full day out in the sun and especially as their is live music at the Beach tomorrow so can enjoy that all day which will be great! As we are getting free accommodation for just 2.5 hours a day we are planning to stay here for around a month. So that means it should be perfect for us to relax abit, unpack, explore the amazing beaches here in the Gold Coast, make the most of the sun and hopefully find a job whilst we're here. We've been applying for some casual part time work. So far applied for some nearby cleaning jobs and some event staff for festivals, fingers crossed we get somewhere.
We can't wait to explore the 17 beaches nearby and hopefully earn some money along the way whilst earning our keep here for our 2.5 hours! So far it's our third day here so let's see what happens
