Hi guys,
Our last blog entry from Moscow. Tonight we get on the train for a short hop to Perm. Kind of like a warm up for the long journey ahead.
On Sunday we went to a massive market full of souvernirs, second hand items, art and antiques. Unfortunately it was raining so it was smaller than normal but it is only open on a Saturday and Sunday so we didn't have much choice. Claire bought a russian doll and we got a couple of badges.
As you can see from the picture is doesn't look like any market I've ever been to. It had wooden huts and gantries and even a galleon, it looked more like the ewok village. But that in itself was quite fun.
After that we went back into town to see if we could find Harry Potter in english - but no joy. No cinema in Moscow has it in English.
Monday the weather cleared up and it was hot again so we went to see if we could see the circus as one of our room mates had seen it the day before and said it was good. Unfortunately again it is only open a saturday and sunday. Seems Moscow is a great place to be - but only at the weekend!
So after failling to see the circus we went to massive bookshop to buy some english books to read on the train. We succeded there andf rewarded oursleves with a "Business Lunch". Basically for a fiver you get tea, a mixed salad and choice of main (we had chicken curry, there were no "typically" russian choices). Very nice.
During lunch we decided to go and see the Ballet that evening. The Bolshoy was closed for renevations but it has two sister theatres next door so we went to one of those. It was ok, not as good as the opera, but Claire like it a lot. They did sleeping beauty so at least we knew the story and there was no speaking so the language wasn't an issue.
Anyway must go and pack (again). I won't be sorry to not have to stuff all my clothes back into a bag every few days.
Hope everyone is well.

Mum & Dad P By now you must be experts at packing the bags. We guess you can almost do it in your sleep. But where would you have tied the chess set?
