Hello from Brissy!

We have been chilling out for a few days over christmas - we ate traditional turkey on christmas eve and then a mountain of scrummy seafood on christmas day, including sand crabs, morton bay bugs (look a bit scary but very tasty) shrimps and oysters. We were stuffed! and now i know how to shell a crab, bit of a messy job but worth the effort.

We have also visited Australia Zoo or Steve Irwin land . . . we hand fed kangaroos and i got to stroke a koalas bum so im happy! we also saw crocks, possums, wombats and snakes.

I want a wombat.

Yesterday we went back into Brisbane to visit the modern art museum and the art museum - now museums are free again! we also walked over to the town hall building in the middle of the city. In the evening we went with David and Jess up Mt Coot - tha to watch the sun set over the city and have a glas of wine followed by a scrummy curry in town. It has been really nice to spend some time with our family out here as i havent seen david for 8 years and Justine for 11!

Today we are catching up on paperwork and booking planes, trains and automobiles for the comming months, dull but needed doing. off in a bit to the pub for dinner.
