Hello all from Koala Jumper,
We've been here now for a few days and wow its fun been fun being eaten alive by mosquitos you can't even see. It's like being in predator but way more itchy. So we've seen th KL tower and the petronis pair of towers. Both are massive neither I'm prepared to pay to go up. It's not cause I don't like heights its because I'm cheap. They are really big but I was surprised at how low the bridge is in comparison to the whole tower I swear it takes Tom Cruise like a week to fall from there to the ground.
We also went to the Batu caves - a hindu shrine built in the caves north of KL. It's pretty easy to get to as the railway goes straight to it. You only have to dodge the horde of angry monkeys that are trying to steal anything shiny (so we right at home as we'd spent three weeks with the thais). We got some nice photos and luckily it was a bit cloudy so the 250 step climb wasn't too bad.
Just before entering and enjoying the shrines inside the caves Claire spotted the sign explaining it was home to one of the worlds rarest spiders (needless to say she didn't read the sign long enough to find out if it was large or dangerous). So inside the temple it looks a bit like a cross between raiders of the lost ark and man united football ground queueing system. Looking up was very impressive even if the ground had been covered in concrete and metal bollards (oh and the obligatory tat shop).
We've been catching up on our cinema here as its pretty cheap. We found found a cinema in the Times square mall. Wow its huge!!!! I think we googled it and it was in the top ten biggest malls in the world (None were in England). It has 10 floors, 2 cinemas, a supermarket, a college, a hotel and a theme park! Also being an ex british colony it has a real Christmas vibe - even more strange when you leave the mall at 10pm and the heat hits you like a wall. I reckon if Santa ever leaves in costume he may die.
We've done a couple of self lead walking tours using the routes on the free maps. Firstly the maps to scale and secondly their estimated times are shocking. We are normally pretty slow when wandering around museums and sights. But the five hour tour took us only two hours I assume the rest of the time is spent either sitting on the side of the road, shuffling at a glacial pace or trying to cross the road (all three are pretty common hobbies in KL).
We visited the national museum and it was pretty good. It was very intersting to see a country that had a strong communist party attempt to take power and the rest of the nation actual side against them. The majority of the other countries we have visited have usually had to suffer years of their control before they come to the same conclusion. However we did notice that there was only limited information on this part of their history. They are definitely concentrating on the positive things that have happend since then.
One more day here and then we head on to Melaka. I think Claire want's to spend money tomorrow so I may let her sleep in and hope she forgets.

Mum R I love the photos. Can't think why you didn't fancy walking across that walk way...It doesn't look that high...from the ground that is. I bet it feels a long way up when you're there though!! It's going to be a bit odd having a hot Christmas. One of the many odd experiences this trip has given you. It's turning chilly here but is still very mild xx
Dave Spend Spend Spend!!!
Steve Taylor I am so glad you labeled the photo of the Golden deity. Thought it was male at first with a huge problem. The mall sounds amazing and just think...no hoodies!!
