Unfortunately the weather wasn't forecasted to be that great but with a little sun in the morning we were optimistic. We took our things to the beach and then ended up booking a tour to Lopez Mendez beach which is considered to be one of the top ten most beautiful beaches in the world. We had to get a boat along the island and were dropped at the pier. We then had to walk along a 30 miniute trail in order to get to Lopez Mendez. It was quite slippy because of the light rain the island had recently had. When we got there we could see why the beach would be considered so beautiful but unfortunately it wasn't at its best as it was a really dull and windy day. The waves were really high and no swimming was allowed although there were lots of surfers in the water. After a while of lying down we got a bit fed up as the wind was blowing the sea mist onto us so it was quite cold and wet. We walked back along the trail to the much calmer beach where the pier was and waited for our boat back.
In the evening we decided to go to a highly recommended restaurant called Dom Mario. The dishes were massive so all three of us shared one starter and one main. We went for garlic mussels and then prawns in a creamy basil sauce. The mussels were fresh and delicious, already prepared without shells, and the prawns were huge and really meaty! They were definitely the best prawns that any of us had ever had. We couldn't stop talking about how good the food was for a very long time! Afterwards we sat on the beach, listened to some live music and had some cocktails.
