We arrived in Rio around 2pm and met Katy at the hostel. It was really lovely to see her! After checking in we headed to a mall to get some food. We found a buffet place and all ended up having really bizarre combinations of food. The price you paid depended on the weight of your food which was quite interesting. We then decided we hadn't quite had enough so we had frozen yoghurt with various chocolately toppings for an overpriced £5. It was worth it though. Afterwards we headed back to the hostel for a little nap before getting ready and going for a drink at the hostel bar. We ended up meeting a Brazilian with a really strong British accent despite never having come to England and although his ex girlfriend was English she was from Manchester so who knows where he picked up such a southern accent! We also met a guy from Canterbury and we decided to go to a club called 00 where caipirinha cocktails were free until midnight. We only had a couple though because they were really strong! We enjoyed dancing for a while and then chilled out on the club sofas. I was grabbed by a Brazilian for a samba dance which was good fun. After the club we typically went to get our McDonalds fix and went back to the hostel.
