A gorgeous walk through the Gorge De La Save...
The gorges of the Sava are located at the northwest border of the region of Comminges about ten kilometers south of Boulogne-sur-Gesse and twenty north of Saint-Gaudens , they extend along the boundary between Montmaurin and Lespugue a distance of just over two kilometers. At Montmaurin and Lespugue is a set of small hills, rising to a height of about 400 meters, which are an extension of the limestone fold of the Small Pyrenees. The Sava River and its tributary the Seygouade , which originate on the Lannemezan plateau , find their narrow valley near Montmaurin. Northeast and northwest of the village, at an altitude of about 300 meters, the two rivers cut into the limestone of two narrow gorges that end up meeting north of Lespugue. Their crossing created a complex network of many cavities and cliffs of moderate size up to thirty meters high.
Truly lovely ... : )
