After hervey bay we headed to kroombit a cattle ranch where we were going to spend the afternoon and night before going to airlie beach. Kroombit was off the beaten track the nearest town was 30km away so in the middle of nowhere. We got there for lunch and had steak reared locally which was rally nice. After we had the opportunity to go horse riding which I decided to do as I hadn't done it before and it was cheap to do it. We went riding for a bout 2 hours and had to got find some goats. After we had got the goats we had to muster them into the pen on horse back which was quite difficult as it was my first time on a horse. When we had finished riding we had a go at branding a goat. Which meant we had to catch the goat and put it on it's side and then brand it with a poker. It was so funny trying to get hold of the goat either by the horns or back legs, I was hopeless and couldn't get the goat by the horns so the back legs it was. It was muddy and horrible but great fun.
After all the goat grabbing we had a chance of clay pigeon shooting again i decided to have a go. I was really good I got 4 out of 5 clay's which i was really pleased with and i bet the boys which was even better. We watched the sunset and then the fun started. We had roast beef for dinner and those of you who know me it my favourite roast dinner. It was lovely i wanted seconds. After dinner and a few more beers we were taught how to crack a wipe by one of the locals. It was really hard and i hit myself lots before getting the hang of it. Then the mechanical bull came into play and everyone who was willing had to have a go. I was completely useless and fellof after once two buck of the bull, never mind i wasn't the worst, check out the video then bloke had been drinking all day and was useless most of the evening! but so funny
It was a great day spent on a cattle ranch which i didn't think it was going to be. especially as everyone in the group joined in and that always make a change!!
The day after we had the longest bus jounrey to airlie beach for the sailing trips. On the way we stopped to play lawn bowls, yes lawn bowls the old man's sport will not for my grandad he'd rather surf the net. It was another first of the trip and was really funny as we were al useless. photos well be on soon
