Well after leaving surf camp I headed to byron bay for 3 days. It is a really nice little town with a very small population. Unfortunately the weather wasn't that good and it rained the whole time we were there. I met some people on the OZ experience bus which I'm travelling around on and spent most of the next week with them. We msanaged to visit the beach dispite the weatehr and ended up having coffee over looking the beach. We spent most nights in cheeky monkeys the local nightclub which was just over the road from our hostel, so not far to stumble home after a few too many beers. They had lots of travels games to play and beer to be won. Great fun. Went to the cinema one night as just couldn't handle another night in cheeky monkeys and had to get the bus the next day. We went to nimbin one of the day in byron as it is a traveller thing to do. It isa hippy town where most of the residents enjoy to either smoke pot or have hash cookies. No I didn't try either as it's just not my thing. I seeinhg most of the local off their heads didn't really impress me. It was a must see but waste of $35 which i could have spent on a nights accommendation!!
After byron bay we went to surfer paradise, whcih reminded me of ibiza or america, as it was full of high rised building and fast food places as far as the eye could see. The beach was really nice, but the day we were going to the beach the rain had come again and we were all hungover from a heavy saturday night out!! We decided to go to movieworld a theme park much like universal studios in orlando. It was a really good day.
Brisbane was the next stop after surfers paradise, I've been here for a week and haven't enjoyed much of my time here. It's just another big city with very bust roads and not much to see if you don't like museums. I did visit southbank which was really nice but the city beach they have there was under construction so couldn't get to see that. I did go to Lone pine sanctuary which was really good, well worth the money. I got to hold a koala and feed kangaroos again. It was the best day in brisbane and a must see if anyone comes here.
I'm off to noosa tomorrow then on to fraser island which I just can't wait for then onwards and upwards to cairns over the next 5 weeks then down the centre back to melbourne. hurrah
hope everyone is well
love tasha xxxxx
