The next part of the trip was to kings canyon and ayres rock. Leaving alice springs we travelled to kings canyon after 5 hours on the road we finally got there, we had stopped for lunch on the way and was ready to start the walk up the canyon. The walk was really hard and it was really hot, it took about 2-3 hours to complete the walk and the views from the top were great. There was a light wind at the top of the canyon which was nice and made it a little easier. Some of the group walked it really quickly and finished within 2 hours but missed some stuff on the way. The tour guide gave us lots of information about the formatiom and history of the land and aborginial people use for the canyon. After the walk it was another long jounrey to the camp site which was close to ayres rock, we had a bbq for dinner then bed as i was really tired.
Ayres rock we went at sunrise so up at 4am and leave by 5am, there were so many people up for the sunrise we had to fight for a good spot to see it. We had lots of photo's taken which was nice. After sunrise we did the base walk of ayres rock about one and a half hours walk which was nice and not too hot but lots of flies. Ayres rock is amazing i can't believe people just think it's a rock in the middle of the dessert. We wwnt to the olgas or kata tjuta after ayres roak for some more rock climbing but again amazing views. After lunch the group split and the people travelling to adelaide stayed at ayres rock and the others went back to alcie springs. In the afternoon thr group all 8 of us just stayed at the camp site and relaxed. we went back to ayres rock in the afternoon and did a caves walk and some fo the group decided to climb ayres rock. We watched sunset over the ayres rock with some champayne from a distance so we could get the whole view of the rock. It was really good it change colour about 3 time before the sun had set. Back to camp after sunset dinner and drinks then bed ready for another realy start, to adelaide for the next 4 days. Uluru or ayres rock has been the best thing in the centre by far.
