What a weekend it has been and sadly it’s our last here. We got invited to watch a local game of football (Angkor Tigers) with Tammy and her son. We arrived by tuk tuk and it was around 20/25 minutes out of town. When we arrived I recognised the stadium. It is where I had been previously for a school Athletic event. As we approached the stadium, there were little stalls selling beer for 50p and local fruit. It was a free for all seat wise with 8 lines of main tearred concrete steps to sit on in the shade and then some concrete steps but in the sun arranged in a semi circle type formation. We took a seat, the concrete was boiling and I was sweating within the first 5 minutes. It was a great game and Tom ended up buying the team football shirt... of course!
After the match we heading back to Tammy’s house and ordered a pizza takeaway for the kids and Tom and a gluten free and keto option for Tammy and I. Tammy ordered the pizzas from a place that ABC’s now have joint ownership with a called Amici. This means that 50% of proceeds go directly to the school.
Sunday was a complete relax. We went to Victoria Angkor hotel for their buffet breakfast/ lunch. This meant we got full use of the facilities and could eat our way through the day. I’m so glad this place still exists as I took nan, grandpops and mum during my previous visits and I just knew Tom would love it. It was luxurious... a huge salt water pool, smoked salmon, meats, fresh sushi and more. A Sunday well spent.
