An early start, we got a taxi to the city where we were going to be picked up for our day trip. When we arrived we found out that we were half an hour too early! But never mind, better early than late anyway.
It was a very long journey to the jungle place. Kept falling asleep! Early mornings and long journeys definitely do not mix lol!
Once we arrived we had some hot chocolate. Before coming to Thailand I never thought I'd ever drink hot chocolate or any other hot drink in hot weather but surprisingly it does cool me down a tiny bit. But it also warms me up when it's cold outside weird!
A couple was also with us so there was the five of us.
We got kitted out with an army jacket and trousers to reduce the chances of getting mosquito bites. Also had wellington boots as it was very muddy. Mine didn't really fit properly was a bit big which made it hard to walk.
We trekked through the jungle for 90 minutes. The first half of the trek was fun, it was fast as me and Hannah were in front, which I liked as it makes it easier especially uphill. The second half we were at the back and the other three in front were so slow which made it harder! So sometimes me and Hannah hung back so we could walk faster to catch up with the others which made it more fun and a lot easier! At one point the mud was deep and Pippa got stuck in the mud and her wellington boots came off! It was so hot and sweaty too especially with the thick and heavy army clothes on top of our vest tops and shorts!
Had some lunch, Thai food as always! It was nice though.
After lunch we went ziplining which was great fun. There were some rope bridges in between the ziplines too. Right at the end when we finished I wasn't looking where I was going which is typical of me and jumped down on the platform without realising there was a hole and my left leg went right though it. It hurt so so much! I was in shock too as I didn't expect that at all! But I couldn't stop laughing afterwards as it was funny! I expect to have bruises all over my leg in the next few days - how attractive!!
Another long journey back to Chiang Mai, slept most of the way.
We were planning to go to chiang Rai tomorrow but we found a really cheap day tour that covers Chiang Rai, the golden triangle and other things we wanted to see so we've decided to stay an extra two nights here in Chiang Mai before heading back south.
Got some dinner before going back to our hotel.
We tried to book an extra two nights in our hotel but unfortunately it's full so we've had to book somewhere else which looks really nice.
