Our last day with the elephants today :(

The same routine as yesterday. Instead of having to wash and scrub three big elephants, we had a treat and washed a smaller elephant, Soi, who is only 6. After that we washed Monica, the baby elephant who is so cute! She rolled in poo after being washed so we had to wash her again! But of course we didn't mind!

We walked the elephants for the last time. Unfortunately as we were nearing the river an elephant, Yitor, who was right in front of me stumbled and fell bringing two people down with her. Thankfully they were okay. She slowed her fall to protect the two. Bless her. I was shaking as it could have easily happened to anyone else including me and it could have been an even worse scenario! Poor Sue who was on the elephant was in shock and so upset as she felt she was to blame. Bless her.

Said goodbye to our elephants before heading to the airport to get our flight to Chiang Mai.
Got to the airport with plenty of time to spare so checked in and had some dinner before boarding our plane. It was a very quick flight thankfully.
Got a taxi to the hotel. It took a while for the driver to find out where it was but we arrived there in the end! The hotel is very nice, vintage. Hard beds though as always!
