Tamara's Travels
French Riveria (Antibes, Cannes, Nice, Monaco) 24th July - 25th July
24th July
Another day on the bus with a couple of stops, one of which was the last remaining walled city of Aigues Mortes, France. This walled city is gorgeous and such a shame we had a limit time here (only 1hr), but nevermind, somewhere to come back to.
25th July
Under our own means we explored the French Riviera. I made my way to Cannes, not somewhere I had intended to go, but was better than waiting over an hour for a train to Nice. I headed straight down to the sandy beach (mind you the sand is imported!!) and checked out the Cannes Film Festival area.
Hopping on the train I went to Nice, initially exploring the streets and shops by myself before bumping into Bec and Jill. Whom I then spent the rest of the day with having fun at restaurants and shopping. I had in mind to buy a new bikini and a hat, but instead I bought jewellery - well sometimes you have to compromise :)
We also explored the pebble beach, which I found quite hard to walk on with no shoes, as did a number of other people. Flip-flops seem very popular!!
Back to the campsite for dinner then all dressed up we ventured into Monaco, walking around where the rich and famous live, we paused briefly outside the castle for champagne - a toast to travelling. Those who wanted checked out the casino, of which I did very quickly, much preferring to enjoy the night outside.
