Well day two has been epic. Halong bay is amazing. So beautiful even if it was a little overcast. An early start wasn't fun mind. Best exchange of the morning was Mary when she asked the woman at breakfast what meat was in the noodles and the reply was ...... BABOON!!! She did clarify after a pause like asparagus. Needless to say we stuck to bacon and sausages
Straight after breakfast we set off on a 4 hour drive to Halong bay, stopping off at a huge rest stop with marble sculptures and embroidery making, even made a quick pitstop at a pearl farm. Was interesting but still really can't get away with pearl jewellery. It did make me chuckle when we spotted a pearl inlaid tissue box holder..... seriously why is that even an option As I type in currently curled up in bed on a gorgeous junk in the middle of the bay. Had an amazing day on Ti Top island. Most of the tourist website pictures are taken form the top of this idyllic island, WAAAAAYYYYYY to many steps but the view is incredible. I was happy enough on the beach, even saw an eagle catch a fish which was amazing. Next up was a lovely relaxed visit to the lagoon. It was so peaceful here could happily have stayed forever. There were even loads of monkeys in the lagoon to keep me entertained sadly they were a little too high up for me to get a picture Definitely an awesome experience topped off by dodgy group karaoke too funny to describe. Fair to say we murdered a few classics Well off to bedskies we will write again soon xxx
