Tally's travels
Hello!
I am in Saigon/Ho Chi Minh City for four days! It is frantic here- I have never seen traffic like it! There are about three million bikes trying to cross over the crossings when we are walking past and the traffic is always hooting at each other- for no actual reason!! Our hotel is nice- we are on the seventh floor so we can see quite a bit- well a lot of buildings! Vietnam is incredibly different to Cambodia- even driving from the border you could really see how different the countries are. Vietnam is much more bullt up - in Cambodia we saw loads of shacks on the sides of the road and it was always dusty and dirty etc but here they have lots of bricks houses and because they are richer. Having said this I think Cambodia was in touch with the western world a lto more than Vietnam seems to be. In Vietnam it is difficult to find people who speak english etc, where as in cambodia it didn't appear to be a huge problem- everyone said hello to us when we walked through the streets, here they just push you!! SO I am discovering lots of different things and I have only been here for one day!
Vietnam is monsoon season to the max! It has rained here so much!! The road yday got flooded it was insane and then the basment got flooded in our hotell! I can't believe how much it rains here!
Anywho... tomorrow we are having a walking tour of the city- our new leader meets us tonight- in fact in half an hour, so that will be ncie to meet someone new- albeit he has A LOT to live up to after Savath- that man was a hero!! We are then visiting the tunnels from the war. So that should be really interesting!!
Miss you all lots and always thinking of things back home!!
