Xin Chao everyone from Hue this time!!
I am sitting in our hotel which I have justed had to ask in english to people who don't speak it how to change the keyboard from Veitnamese to English... which was interesting. Not as bad as last night as trying to speak to mum on skype and the microphone wasn't working. Mum was on webcam and the lady thought mum was me... so she got really confused and kept saying "internet." There is me shouting at her going "microphone doesn't work" "that's not me, thats my mum" and there she is pointing at the picture then at me. Which is odd because a) there was no webcam on my copmputer b) Mum was wearing glasses and was in our lounge c) I looked rank, sweaty and was in this odd interent place... so god knows why she thought mum was me! There was then lots of hand actions going eveywhere... and me just saying heellllooo down a microphone that doesn't work... Anyway, this place is a lot quieter! But still no skype! ALthough we think our mobiles are working here, so give it a try if you really want!
Hue is an alright city, our hotel is on the perfume river- which doesn't smell nasty (for once in Asia) but equally doesn't smell nice, it just doesn't smell of anything! Yesterday we travelled here by bus and travelled up marble mountain, which had a lot of steps, which was a dogey area with me and my 'dicky tummy' (which I am putting down to the mayonnaise i licked because it was out of date in may, but everyone egged me on to have it... I regretted it. Yes, that's right I regretted having mayonnaise for once in my life!) at the moment. But I survived it (apart from the horrible heat of the sun up a mountain at 1pm) but the views were worth it. We are having a bit of a tough time with our leader at the moment too... he doesn't tell us all the information there is to know about the places, for example yesterday there were apparently loads of caves up this mountain but we didn't see them because Luu didn't take us there!! So we aren't too happy with him, just seems he is taking us to these places for commision, (even though we doubt this is actually true, it just seems like he is taking us to pointless places) so we started organising things ourselves- which seems to defeat the point of doin it as a group with a leader, but we only have five more days of him, so everyone is praying for a good leader in Laos!
Today was awesome, we went on a motorobike tour! First time I had ever been on a motor bike (don't worry family, I wore a helmet and had the best driver in the group!) and I loved it! we went through all the beautiful country side, up 'bunker hill' which had an american bunker on from the war, and the views were amazing, over this lake!! Saw hats being made by a lady with one arm and went to see how insense (probably spelt wrong) is made! Bloody aamzing day I loved it, I never thought I'd say this- but being on the back of a motorbike was amazing!! After our great tour we headed towards town for lunch in a bar not disimular to Ankor Whaaaat - which I think I have spoken about before! Then, me, katy, erin and claire went on a hunt for a nail bar to have pedicures done, but couldn't find any in town, so headed back on a cyclo, which is basically half a bike and a chair put on the front of it. We had this old man on ours, and Katy and I felt awful ebcause at one point he couldn't cycle us anywhere so had to run and push us to our hotel!! I am obviosuly not losing weight here! Was hilarious, better than walking in this god damn heat! yesterday when katy and I left the interent cafe it was 35 degrees... at 11pm.
Tonight we are just going to chill me thinks and then we are going to rock to the citadel tomorrow which apparently is definately worth a visist!
Hope you're all well? Keep me up with the gossip and let me know if you want anything from here!! :)
Love you all lots!!
