We had a nice lazy start and bought new toothbrushes from Kathmandu and a $30 (!!!!!) toaster from warehouse! :(
We drove to Christchurch where we eventually found a campsite to stay in. There were no cheap campsite so we had to pay $41 :(
We tried to drive through the town centre but a lot was blocked off and there were a few rubble piles where buildings used to be and lots of empty buildings fenced off. The roads were pretty bad. They have obviously patched up the tarmack but it was very bumpy!!
We chilled for the afternoon and enjoyed our Saint Clare bottle of wine we got in Marlborough over a chat on a picnic bench.
