Hi again! As I was on "holiday" in Phuket I did not actively update this blog as there was nothing special happening there. Now I have been again on the road for three days.Since Phuket I have travelled by bus about 25 hours. First I travelled to Kuala Lumpur where I spent two nights in one of the cheap hotels in Chinatown and applied for the Indian visa. My "holiday" in Phuket, more exactly in Patong Bay with my son Ville is well on its way. I have to say that this place is a bit too commercial for my taste. The weather is also fairly hot for a nordic person. Otherwise the life is OK here. We have found a good indian restaurant and there are plenty of cafes to select from. I am planning to take a tour to Phi Phi islands if I can talk Ville into it.

Last day in Georgetown is on its way as tomorrow morning at 5.00 I will start my busride to Phuket. I have enjoyed this place as it is almost like my whole trip in one small place. The old town of Georgetown is on the UNESCO World Heritage list so there is a lot of interesting architecture here. As this used to be the first British colonial outpost in this region the city has vibrant Chinese, Indian, Malay and Arabic population with their cultures, cuisines etc....

I am now in capital of Penang, Georgetown. I found a Guesthouse for the next couple of nights. I do not have Cellular data service yet. I have also problems charging my phone due to British style power outlets here.It is also public holiday today here, so very few places are open, but I can manage with 711 and other similar establishments.

My second stop in Bangkok is now nearing its end. I have stayed two nights in Wendy House, which is a nice guesthouse located conveniently next to main shopping areas and less than half hour walk from Finnish embassy. Single room costs 1000 Bath here including the breakfast. Yesterday I collected my new passport from the Finnish embassy. Then I made once again a mistake by trusting Google Maps.
