Frist full day in London now. We arrived early, since our train was in London already at 6.40 AM. Unfortunately didn't get sleep almost at all in the night train, for in the little cabin there was a way too poor air.. :( So I was dead tired at arriving. Took the tube to Hammersmith, closest tube station to our little hotel. Of course, since it was so early, our room wasn't ready yet, so left our luggage therr and went to search for breakfast from somewhere near by. Ended up to a Brook's Green Hotel..and I warn you now: don't you ever go there!! Gonna tell you why now: first of all, they tried to charge us 4£ more of the breakfasts than it said in the menu, 'cause there were somehow "old prices" in the menu(!). Of course, we didn't pay, we demanded to pay as how it was in the menu! They agreed after some feedback.. Asked us did we want coffee or tea. When eating, asked them did they have orange juice, they said: "Help yourself from the table where they had breakfast facilities. Well, we finished our plates and then, another surprise: thede guys brought us another bill for the coffees & orange juices, over 7£! Reason: "they didn't include in the already over 6£&over 9£ breakfasts! Well, they didn't tell us that when brought us coffee and said where to get juice, so it was unspeakable that we'd pay anything anymore - these guys just want you s*** you..! So we refused to pay, 'cause they should have told us beforehand. Ended up then to pay for the one extra coffee, but that's it. But now, you've been warned not to go there!
-- Got our hotel room, finally. Went to sleep for 3hrs or so, that we could stay awake at the theatre at the evening. We were going to see the Ghost Stories at the Duke of York's theatre (with one of my Londoner friend)! :D
It had had good reviews to be really scary.. ;) So we grabbed pints before the theatre at the Round Table near it, and off we went. The theatre was quite small but we had pretty nice seats at the balcony. The play itself was very entertaining and great fun, indeed! :D But scary? No, not like that. Ok, there was coupla scenes with those classical "surprise frightening" things, that were ok and working. ;) But that's it. But like I said, it was very entertaining&we had great fun!! I recommend.
After the theatre we went to have one pint to Covent Garden and to eat smth, since we still didn't have had our dinner. Luckily we still found food at some bar which severd very decent indian dishes among others& got a nice tikka masala dish with a pint of Guinnes fot 6,99£, not a bad deal at all and a nice end for the day, which didn't start so successfully.
