4 days in Koh Tao were just about enough, I think. If it'd been longer, you should either love snorkeling&diving around the island and/or just driving around it to different places. I do not fancy that much neither of those.
So yesterday we booked for ourselves the Seatran ferry tickets back to Samui, leaving at 9.30, where we'll have some time to kill before our flight to Bangkok leaves from Samui at 17.20. We also booked ourselves a 4,5**** star hotel from Bangkok for the one night, from Sukhumvit Soi, hotel Rembrant. Then we'll have the day to spend in Bangkok, and our flight journey home begins at 19.35 tomorrow evening. And after about 22hrs - including a six hour waiting in Delhi where I have some things to sort out, too. Since they lost my pocket knife, which was suppose to come to Bangkok and never did, because they made a mistake and didn't checked it all the way through. Even though I told them THRICE(!) that we were going to Bangkok! And it was a pocket knife which once belonged to my beloved granpa who passed away few yrs ago, so it also had pretty much sentimental value for me, and therefore I AM sad if I won't ever get it back.. :'( But I'm hell sure, I'm gonna try! And if they'll never find it, Air India gets a compensation demand from me and they WILL pay for me! - from that we should be home at around 6pm on Friday.
Btw, one more _not so good point about Star Villa: first day they said to us NOT to charge rent for the beach towels, then now after we checked out, they charged us from them for 3days/200baht, even though we used them just for one day! And the 3rd day was this checking out day before 9am.. Pretty "fair". :( It is a question of principale, also, and it irritates me a lot when people do not act/do as like they say. Only creates a feeling that the person is not a man of his word... Pity.
Anyway, gonna write reviews in Trip Advisor too, at some point, from all the places we spent nights on this trip. And everyone will get a fair review, they will get the review they deserve.
Now we're on the ferry to Samui, gonna catch some lunch there before going to the airport.
Arrived to the hotel in Bangkok at about 9pm. The Rembrant hotel however turned out to be quite outdated, being nowadays more like a two star hotel, NOT in any case a four star. If you want a real four star hotel, go to the near by Park Plaza Sukhumvit, the room is about 10-15€ more expensive, but worth it. We now had only this one night to spend, so didn't bother to change a hotel, and we has payed it also in advance, so didn't bother.
Went for a walk to search for a late dinner. Ended up visiting the Korean town of Sukhumvit, but it was already so late o'clock that the restaurant was closing. We then walked back towards our hotel, at least we were on the retaurant district, but then we ended up in a Lebanonese restaurant near our hotel which served very mediocre food, which was too expensive (by that price the should've been good, NOTmediocre!), with an owner a bit toi keen to please his customers and himself was hanging around at the small dining room in one table, smoking sheesha and chatting to couple of clients. Tried to serve us too big glasses of wine for free after dinner, but we just wantes to go to sleep. Also, he was somewhat way too slimy, acted awkwardly.. The name of the restaurant was "Elite", near the Sukhumvit 18 crossroads, I do NOT recommend going there. You'll find smth better for sure!
