Hey all, here we are again, boring you with our stories!!
So monday, Soph climbed the bridge with ste (her brother) they make u wear very sexy grey spacesuits..... your not allowed to take anything with u apart from ya sunnies not even your camera, which is a massive shame cos the views are amazing, i think they do it to make u buy the photos! its pricy to climb the bridge but had it as a xmas pressie so was fantastic (cheers david and darren!)......
last week was spent touring round the beaches went to bondi, manly bay and palm beach were ..... closer each day.... home and away is filmed!! our team, team alf stewart kicked ass at volleyball, i think they won cos everyone else gave up! gem was a football super pro and managed to beat all the lads...... ull all be surpised to know Soph didnt really join in with the sports (too much like hard work!) i just out and took lots of action shots!
we visted kings cross, we very naively did not realise is was the red light district of Sydney after lots of offers (we are not that skint yet) and standing around a bit too long on the street corner deciding what to do we moved on for a romantic stroll behind the circular quay, seeing the opera house and bridge by night, was spectacular, tried to capture it on camera but did not do it justice ....... we were poshos and had a drink in the sydney opera house, was gorgeous.......
Thurs nite was a bit of a stressful one because Soph thought she had lost her passport, but downing lots of cheap booze made everything better and she managed to loacte it in the morning when she was a bit more sober, and had put it somewhere so safe that she could'nt find it herself!!
Friday started tour of the east cost, first stop was coffs harbour- uve probably not heard of this delightful place and there is good reason because it is a dump! think skeggie, dodgy seaside place that's claim to fame is the big banana! hostel was minging full of cockroaches... dont know how we cooked in there 2 b honest! The only bonus was the free laundry!
We moved on very swiftly to Byron bay, which rocked! Hippie town, really laid back, lovely beach! Also CHEEKY MONKEY'S!!!! The place is awesome! Free lifts whenever we rang, free food and cheap booze, what more could a backpacker ask for...dancing on tables!!!!! wooo!!! We had a surf lesson here too, which was great, though we both came out of it feeling very achey...first workout in ages...During our time here we also visited a tiny town called Nimbin...literally one street, the place is renowned for it's drugs! Even the museum were trying to sell them to us lol! Of course we're too lovely girls brought up very well so obviously refused ;P Tuesday eve was very mellow!!!
Next stop was Surfers Paradise...think L.A meets Newquay...great place...plan to go back and really get a taste of the nightlife and fantastic beach! Went to Wet n wild waterpark...was just like the ones at Disneyworld in Florida, had great fun and the weather was perfect! On a plus Soph did'nt even burn...astonishing!!!! Although her feet and patches on her arms are still a little pink from previous burnage :)
We're currently in Brisbane, hav'nt really seen much of the place, but went to the Australia zoo today, home of Steve Irwin 'crikey' had a fab time seeing all the cute koalas and kangaroo's! Gem cuddled a koala and nearly ran of with it...soooo cute! Gem will be working on the parents to get one for when she returns :) pllleeeaaassseeee! Soph also had a run in with a hormonal kangaroo!!! was a very close call! lol!
We leave Brisi tomorrow to embark on the unknown...a canoo trip in Noosa...Gem's used to camping after 6 weeks in Africa, however Soph may be feeling differently haha!
Will let you know how it all goes!
Take care, hope you're all good!

Mirella I didn't get this invite from OU. maybe they don't like me LOL!!I wish I'd known, bescaue I would definately have gone. I had a similar trip arranged for last summer, but a friend pulled out at the last minute, so I ended up not going.I'm sure it will help with the essay so much. There is nothing like getting a true feel' for somewhere to be able to write about it.
Antoan Having grown up in the great plains of the USA, I can tefitsy that people who live with snow every day of the winter are no less stupid. The ice-covered windscreen with a peep-hole is de riguer, as are bald tires and dark headlamps.
