Pic of Torre de Hercules Patrimonia de la Humanidad (Hercules Tower). It is an ancient Roman lighthouse - said to be the oldest in the world still in use - 55 metres high. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately!!!) it was closed when we walked to it from our hotel.
It took about four hours by train to reach A Coruna (NW Spain) from Porto. We're blown away with the amount of eucalypts we are seeing. Our journey could have been in Australia!!! There were communities constantly along the track. Lots of veggie garden in backyards. Not many farms as such and not many animals. It rained on and off all day. Not good for pics but at least it's not cold.
We arrived in A Coruna mid afternoon and took off for a long walk along the coast in the drizzly rain. We were ready to eat by about 6pm but nothing opens till 8pm!! We found a small supermarket and bought supplies to eat in our room. Also bought a very cheap, quite drinkable bottle of red and drank half of that.
