We arrived in Singapore at around 7pm after a very long journey with two very hung over girls from Suzie's birthday night out the night before thank god for reclining seats and TV screens in the back of the seats. National express should take note if Malaysia can do business class style buses for 7 pound a journey why are we so behind the times????
We both slept for the first five hours in between a stop for lunch and for the final two hours in between getting off the bus twice for boarder control we watched Disney films you can't beat a bit of Lady and the Tramp and Snow White when you not feeling so great.
We arrived into Singapore and again the bus stopped in a random car park, once off the bus two European blokes who had also been on the bus started talking to us and asking where we were staying. Once we had showed them the address one of them said it was ok we could stay at his house tonight if we wanted we both politely reclined the offer, he then offered us a job in his bar for a month if we fancied it again we both reclined. We were a little bit freaked out by this point so we said we'd just get a taxi, they did carry our bags for us to the taxi rank which was good we then said our goodbyes and quickly got in the taxi.
We arrived at the hostel and checked in it was a nice place but we expected a bit more for our money considering how expensive it was, but as people had told us Singapore is expensive as we were to find out!!!!
After we had settled in we went out to get some food from a Chinese food court that had been recommended by the lady at the hostel. On the walk there we were amazed at how many shopping centres there were in such a short walk and also how busy it still was at 10 o'clock at night Singapore really is the city that never sleeps!!! After we had eaten we were both ready for our beds so we went back to the hostel and went to bed.

This morning we had a Saturday lay in to catch up on our sleep from so many days of travelling. Once up we both realised how much washing we had to do we were both running out of knickers, the only problem with this was that you had to stay at the hostel while the washing was being done and whilst your things were in the tumble dryer. Therefore we had to write the day off as a washing and updating the blog day as we had three loads to do.
We did venture out in between loads to go to M&S to buy some new bras as Suzie are falling apart and I wanted a strapless one. After here we went to find somewhere for lunch and we were very shocked by the prices after five months in Asia and it being so cheap for food it was like "You want how much" we did find somewhere with a lunch deal on so it felt a bit better but it was still expensive.
After lunch we went back to the hostel and spent the afternoon updating the blog and sorting the washing out.
This evening we decided to visit Little India for food, so after sussing out the MRT, which was very easy, we arrived in little India. Before we even got out the subway station the different smells hit you curry, fruit and veg, incense sticks and other unidentified smells. After walking a short way we were given a menu from a bloke on the street so we decided to eat there. It was the right choice even though it's a big statement I think it was the best Indian I have ever had, I don't think Suzie would go quite so far but she really enjoyed hers too. I had chicken tikka masala, which was very spicy compared to the one we get at home, but it was so nice and Suzie had butter chicken we both had it with nann bread.
After we had eaten we decided to go to the 24-hour shopping centre the waiter had told us about. I got a new pair of flip-flops on the way that were the same as my last pair that have broken. The shopping mall wasn't as good as the other we had been into but you could buy anything there from a televisions to razors. We didn't stay very long I could see Suz was getting bored she couldn't understand why anyone would want to shop at 11 o'clock at night???
After leaving the shopping centre we got the MTR back to the hostel and went to bed.

This morning after getting ready and sorted and putting the last load of washing on we set out to go to the National Museum of Singapore. On the way to the museum we stopped at subway for lunch (This is a sandwich shop Gran if you don't know) at another enormous shopping centre. Once at the museum we split off from each other as, as you know Suzie and I have very different opinion on museum and very different tolerance levels.
With a rich history dating back to its inception in 1887, the National Museum of Singapore is Singapore's oldest museum with the youngest and most innovative soul. Designed to be the people's museum, the National Museum is a custodian of the 11 National Treasures, and its Singapore History and Living Galleries adopt cutting-edge and varied ways of presenting history and culture to redefine conventional museum experience.
There were lots of different rooms in the Singapore living galleries, which we did first including a food, film, fashion and photography room. After we had visited these rooms we went into the Singapore history Gallery, which is the main expedition at the museum.
The Singapore History Gallery adopts a story-telling approach, unveiling different perspectives as you travel through tales of the past. To let you appreciate the struggles that early settlers had to overcome, you will be taken through the drama of major national events as well as the personal stories of individuals.
You can select your own 'path' into the past. The events path traces the major events and characters that were part of Singapore's history, while the personal path tells stories through the eyes of the man on the street. With our audio-visual companion that comes in four languages, listen to interesting insights and quips of your choice to complete this refreshing and enriching journey.
It was an interesting Museum but I left Suzie there and went back to the hostel
A)I had to ring Rachel
B)I had, had enough
This evening we went to China town to eat along with Helen a girl we had met in the hostel. We had a fantastic meal and mixture of meat and vegetable dishes it was all very tasty and not at all badly priced.

This morning we got up early to go to Singapore Zoo, before we set off we booked our accommodation for Perth and booked a taxi for the tomorrow morning to take us to the airport.
It was a long old journey to the zoo a mix of the MRT and a bus but it seemed to take forever to get. We were all (Helen came with us too) very impressed by the zoo the animals had lots of room in open inclosure's and they all looked very well cared for. We saw a variety of Animals including white tigers, giraffes, tigers, kangaroo's, and lots of different types of monkeys including chimps and orangtans and many more animals it was definitely worth the visit. Once we had finished we got the shuttle bus which we had found out about which dropped us near the hostel back.
Tonight was Raffles night for Singapore Slings courtesy of Dad and Mel thank you very much. Before we headed to Raffles we went to a restaurant around the corner from the hostel for dinner we all had curry and nan bread which was good but we were a bit late getting there so they had run out of a lot of stuff. After we had eaten we got the MRT to Raffles to go to the long bar for Singapore slings and to chuck peanut shells on the floor. The Singapore slings were very nice and we both enjoyed ourselves it was a lot more relaxed than we expected and they had a live band on who were good. After we had had two we got the bill and then got a taxi back to the hostel.

This morning was an early start ready to get to the airport for our flight to Perth, which left, at 9.05am. We shared a taxi to the airport with Helen as she was flying to Sydney, the check in and everything was all very quick and we were very impressed with the airport we wished we had a bit longer to spend there. The one funny incident we had there was just before we went to board we nipped for a quick cigarette and on the way back we saw Helen who said "isn't your flight closing" which paniced us slightly so we said a quick goodbye to her and ran as fast as we could to the gate. It was all fine and once we were on board there were loads of other people coming on after us but it did make us sweat a bit thinking we might miss our flight. The flight was only half full so we got to spread out which was great and we arrived in Perth at around 2pm.
GOODBYE ASIA, HELLO AUSTRALIA!!!!! XX
