We arrived in Sydney from Melbourne this evening around 9pm cleared the airport very quickly our bags where even going around the carousel as we worked into baggage re-claim which is unheard our bags are usually the last!!
It was a bit trickier trying to find the airport shuttle bus to take us to the hostel, no signs and no one on the information desk which is always helpful. I eventually ask a very grumpy lady on the car rental desk who did a very unhelpful "it's over there" point. So we ventured outside again and walked in the direction she had pointed in we still couldn't see anything except for a crazy man waving in our direction. Suzie and I are both looking at each other thinking why is he waving at us we don't even know anyone in Sydney he must have mistaken us for someone else until it eventually dawned on us he was actually the airport shuttle bus driver. So safely on the bus he told us he just had to wait another 20 minutes until he could go, then after 20 minutes he told us just another 5 minutes it was actually an hour before we left we were not best pleased as you can imagine. We were the first drop off though so that was something.
We got checked into our hostel Wake Up which was very nice by about 10.40pm used the internet and then we went to bed. We had booked into a 10 bed dorm thinking it would be fine but after over a week in Melbourne living like normal people I didn't sleep well at all it was so noisy and it didn't help that I had a lad under me who kept shouting out in his sleep I was not a happy bunny in the morning. Suz didn't have any problems once she was asleep I wish I could sleep like that!!

This morning we had a bit of a lay in before getting up and sorted. We had a coffee at the café at the hostel before meeting up with Daisy and Mark who are living in Sydney now. They met us at the hostel and then we all went for lunch at a food court near by and then a sneaky lunch time drink after. We left them and arranged to meet with them on Saturday to go to the markets and then to Manly where they are living. So Suzie and I set of on our mission for the day to sort out how we were going to get up the east coast with 33 days to do it in before we meet Mum.
First of all we went back to travel desk at the hostel who gave us some useful information. Next we decided to visit Peter Pans a travel agent for backpackers who had been recommended to us. The lady in there was really helpful and sorted out a package for us with all the places we wanted to visit with all accommodation, travel and other activities we wanted to do such as the Whitsundays, Fraser Island, Scuba diving, White water rafting and a SKY DIVE 14,000ft (How scary!!!).So after a bit of a discussion between ourselves we decided to book that package.
After leaving Peter Pans feeling very excited about the next leg of our trip we decided to walk down to Sydney Harbor Bridge and the Opera House. It was a 45 minute walk from the hostel along a busy shopping street so I couldn't resist having a quick look in the shops along the way much to Suzie's dismay. Once at the Harbor Bridge we had a quick look but we didn't take any pictures as we didn't want to ruin the surprise for Mum. From here we had a walk up to an area called The Rocks where there was a night market and lots of little bars so with a reason to celebrate we went to a German bar for a couple of drinks before heading back. On the way back we both got a Turkish pancake off the night market for tea which was very nice and filling.
Back at the hostel we went to use the internet before going to the bar down stairs just for one free drink but of course this turned out to be one of several drinks and before we knew it was 3.30am but we had a really good night and a good boogey.

This morning with slightly sore heads it was a late start before we eventually got sorted. First we had to go back to Peter Pans to collect our tickets after here we headed to Murphy's Market a famous market in Sydney. We had lunch here in the food court before having a look around it would have been my dream market if I'd felt better but on the up side we can go back at Christmas have a good shop something to look forward to Mum. We got our ingredients for tea here, we decided on fish and roasted vegetables it was so cheap we will definitely have to start shopping at the markets rather than the supermarkets.
From the Market we went to the internet café to update the blog before heading back to the hostel to cook tea and pack our bags ready to leave Sydney tomorrow morning at 7am.
