We left the hostel in Brisbane this morning at 6am the airport shuttle picked us up and drove us around Brisbane for over an hour before taking us to the airport we were not impressed as you can imagine at that time in the morning. The airport was smooth running we got checked in with no problems and the flight left on time so all good. We arrived in Sydney collected our bags and then caught the train to Central and then caught the next train to the Blue Mountains from Central we had to wait for about an hour but we just grabbed some lunch so no problem really.
The train took about 2 hours to get to Katoomba which was the town we were staying at in the Blue Mountains. We had a very hard and hot walk on our walk to the YHA where we were staying I think we were all very glad to get there when we eventually found it.We checked in and had a much needed cup of tea before deciding to go out walking to Leura Cascades and Gordans falls. We walked for about 4 hours this afternoon it was a really nice walk it was a shame about the weather as it was quite misty and over cast but the views were still fantastic.
We walked back to the main street and went to the supermarket and then we had a big disappointment we were all in desperate need of a glass of wine and the bottle shop was closed. So Mum went back to cook and Suzie and I went on the hunt for another bottle shop and we soon found one so the night was all good again. We had spicy sausage pasta for tea and vegetables which mum had been craving and a few glasses of wine then we all went to bed ready for another day of hiking tomorrow.

We had another lay in this morning until 10am we had breakfast and got sorted and set of on our walk for the day The Three Sisters. We started off from the hostel and walked to Echo point where we stopped to have lunch when the rain eventually stopped!!! From Echo point we walked down 900 stairs of the giant stairway we actually met people walking up them and by the look of them I think they regretted that decision!! After we had got to the bottom we walked from here to the scenic railway station and we then took the train to the top this is the steepest railway in the world I think Mum was a little bit scared with her fear of heights. Once we got to the top we had an ice cream while we waited for the rain to stop and then walked back to the hostel.
Tonight Suzie and I cooked tea for Mum, we had curry which was good with a few beers. Mum was quite tired so she went to bed while we used the internet.

This morning we had to check out by 10am so we had to take in shifts to pack as the room was so small. Once we had checked out Suzie and I used the internet to send some Christmas cards before we left the hostel. Now we knew the hill was steep up to the train station but it was horrendous especially with so many bags it killed us all there was some choice language going on between the three of us I can tell you. We had to wait for about half an hour for the train back to Sydney, we arrived in Sydney at around 3pm.
*See Sydney entry when we do it for the rest of today hope you are all well and Happy New Year to you allxxxx
