We got up at 6:30am and had breakfast and then set off. We had a couple of hours travel time so o pass the time I snoozed and chatted to those who were sitting near me. We stopped at Devils Marbles mid morning, which was really good. The rocks are all balanced on top of each other and look really amazing. We had fun posing for photo's doing things like pretending to push them over and climbed up a few of them to get good views. We spent about an hour messing around on the rocks. Whilst we were walking back to the bus I pretended to pour water over Vince so he pretended to sneeze and at the same time poured his water over me so I stood outside the bus trying to dry off, which didn't take long as it was so hot.
We then drove to another pub to have another swim and cool off. The boys were out to get me as they kept dive bombing near me to try and soak me and then when I gave Lena a piggy back Marc pushed her off. We then attempted a human pyramid with Marc, Vince and Alex at the bottom and Lena and I on the top. Vince kept moving sideways so that I was almost doing the splits and then Lena and I went crashing into the water.
We had a BBQ for lunch and then got on the road again. We stopped at a place which was where the first telegraph station was in Australia and Paul and I walked to the toilets and had to go in a very strange bar to ask for the key to the toilet block. The bar had writing all over the walls from when tourists had passed through and there were a few aboriginals hanging around outside.
We then drove again and Lena and I sat together and gossiped about boys and joked with the boys, doing things like throwing Paul's swimming shorts along the bus when he made the mistake of saying to me not to touch his shorts when I sat down near to where they were drying. We stopped at the Tropic of Capricorn and had a group photo taken there and then travelled to Alice Springs.
We arrived at 6:30pm into Alice Springs and made a plan to go to one of the bars called Bojangles at 8pm for dinner. I was stayingat Alice Lodge Backpackers whereas the rest of the group were at a different hostel as they were continuing their tour whereas this was my last day. It was just under a 10 minute walk to the bar from the hostel and I had been told my the hostel receptionist that it was fine to walk there before 8pm but to make sure that I got a taxi home as there were a lot of aboriginals around that could cause trouble.
We all had dinner together and then a few of the girls headed back to the hostel so I said my goodbyes to them. The rest of us (Darlene, Alli, Marc, Paul, Lena, Theo, Vince and Alex) stayed and after a couple of drinks we got on the dance floor and Marc made us do some robot dancing as that's the only dance he'll do. We then did some proper dancing whilst he sat at the bar drinking. We were all having a great time singing and dancing to the tracks. When Lena and I went to the bathroom we had a laugh as they have the door handle on the wrong side of the door to confuse people and they also have the taps mixed up so that you turn the tap and the water comes out of the other sink, and the same with the hand dryer.
When I returned to the dance floor a cute looking Aussie guy came to chat to me. He chatted to me for a bit and then invited me to come and sit with him and his good looking mates so I decided to take a break from dancing and joined them until I saw my group getting ready to leave so I said goodbye and went and found the others. The group said that they would walk me to my hostel so we set off. I said goodbye to them outside the hostel and we said that we'd keep in touch via facebook. I got into my room at 2am and had to set my alarm for 5am to get up for my one day tour to Uluru. I was not looking forward to getting up after only three hours sleep!
