Becky and I headed to the beach to have lunch and a sunbathe. I fell asleep a few times as it was nice and warm and we'd had a late one the night before. About mid afternoon we decided to do the lighthouse walk and walked through a rainforest. The views up there overlooking the sea are amazing and the beaches are so white and the water is really clear. We stood at the most easterly point of mainland Australia and had our photo taken.
On the way back we decided to do the coastal path back and as we were walking the sky was lit up by a lightning storm, which was really pretty. We started to walk quicker when we could hear the thunder getting nearer but paused for a bit to watch a newly married couple getting photographed on the beach. Randomly there was the bridesmaids on the bank overlooking the beach on one side, the ushers on the other side and then a group of young people in animal costumes in the middle - random!
Once we'd got on the beach it started raining and the wind picked up and we started getting whipped by the sand against our legs so whilst screaming we tried to find a way off the beach. As we got on the bank we started laughing and screaming and had come up onto the street opposite an appartment of guys sitting on their balcony, who seeing us soaked took pity on us and shouted an invite to come and shelter. Checking with each other and agreeing that we were both soaked and cold we took them up on the offer. They were a group of Aussie rugby players from the beaches around Sydney and had hired the apartment for the weekend. They gave us a towel and a drink and we chatted to them for a bit before deciding to make a run for it as Becky's mum & Dad were cooking us dinner.
When we got back to the hostel I bumped into a guy who had two cider bottles strapped to his arm who informed me that he had to wear them as he was the youngest rugby player - he was a Brit so what do you expect! Two girls from England checked into our dorm so we chatted to them and then after dinner Becky & I got ready and her parents went ahead to watch the rugby at The Beach Hotel. When we arrived and went over to see her parents we found that they were sat next to the rugby players who we sheltered with so they invited us over to watch the game with us. They were with another group of people who were staying in another place. After the rugby was over they cleared the tables and made the area into a dance floor. One of the rugby guys was very cute and was a true Aussie surfer so when he asked me to dance I obliged. We spent most of the evening in the bar then went to a club called Coco Mangas. They were all really nice guys so we had a fun evening
