Day 21
Vienna
Pretty relaxed day today. After breakfast we went into the city centre to try and find the girls new shoes. Maddy had worn out her pair and the sole was coming off Renee's joggers. This took longer than expected so we grabbed a bread stick for lunch, from a corner bakery called Anker. We found some shoes, (the extent of our high class, Viennese shopping spree, at least some were happy) and headed home for a rest.
Rested for most of the afternoon and then headed out to Prater, an old Vienna fair,(check it online for it's history) for dinner and a few rides for the girls as they have had to put up with a lot of museums and buildings.
Renee and Phil had a go on a go-kart (Maddy was too young). Renee's face was beaming as she amazingly maintained control of an independent motorized vehicle, for the first time.
The girls then had a go through a fun house which they thoroughly enjoyed. (Mad's was nervous initially). We found a place that had schnitzel for dinner and the meals were huge. I couldn't even finish mine. The schnitzel alone was the size of a large dinner plate. It also came with potato in a vinegar type dressing. They tasted nice together.
To finish up they all had a go on the dodgem cars. The longest ride ever.
Tired, we all tram it home with a short stop at Burger King in the city, for an ice cream, where they have the most ornate ceiling I have ever seen. Some unique busking going on there, including strange Russian instrument called the Balalika, of which Phil was glad to experience, after teaching about it, with pictures only.
Always thankful to God for keeping us safe and helping us find our way.
Guten abend.
