After the short journey back to Stone Town we relaxed in the room for a while (well I had a nap) before we went out for a wander. We had a coffee and ice cream in a restaurant and I got my lightning bolt henna tattoo to match some of the others on tour.
We went to a local market and wandered around smiling as everyone shouted 'Jambo' at us. It was such a hot day so after a fairly long look around we started to walk back to the hotel popping in the odd shop. I am still finding it really expensive here compared with India but think I am adjusting slightly everyday!
Back at the hotel we said our farewells to the Kiwi 3, John, George and Suzie, all siblings and the first to leave our tour which was weird. After relaxing a little more in the spacious room (so nice to have a room, bed and TV!) we met the others for a sundowner before going it alone for dinner. We found a nice restaurant and ordered but before the food arrived, John, Francis and Richard bounced in so we shared our meal with them too. The boys (and Francis) enjoyed a good old chat about football and sport in general so I was at a bit of a loose end but it was nice to see them all chatting away.
We strolled back to the hotel for an early night before the fun and games of early starts and camping begins again tomorrow. Zanzibar really is a paradise island and I will be sad to leave.
After an early start and rubbish breakfast we got back on the bus to the ferry port. I was really sad not to see Dawn (the last one to leave tour at this point) to say goodbye but didn't want to wake her at such an early time! Bye Dawn - We'll miss you!
Lots of love and zanzibar kisses! xxx
