So we have had a wonderful week in Hawaii and are sad to be leaving tommorrow :(

We arrived on sunday after flying from LA on a really cool flight as we somehow managed to get these amazing seats which were just to seats together with no one in front or behind so we were in like a little section on our own adn our seats reclined all the way back! So i managed to sleep for about half of the 5 and a bit hour journey!

We arrived in Hawaii to find it windy and rainy not what we had been hoping for and as we were carrying our bags out the airport to the shuttle bus the handle of my outter bag for my rucksack broke! so i had to kinda pick up my bag and half carry/hug it! We got the bus to our hostel checked in and went to our room which was a 8bed mixed dorm! and had like a kitchen area but in that room was 2 sets of bunk beds, a little strange. We ended up on one of these sets of bunks. Both sat around listening to our new roommates chattin, who seemed pleasant enough, managed to stay awake til 10 then went to bed.

Our first proper day in Hawai and it was lovely and sunny :) we spent the day on the beach had fresh fruit for breakfast and wondered round the shops during the evening.
The next day we got a 4 day bus pass and got the bus to Diamond head where we clibed up steep paths and lots of steps and had to go through tunnels in the side of the hill til we reached the view point where we got an amazing view over Waikiki :) Then we got the bus back to Waikiki and got another bus to Pearl Harbour. When we got there it said we werent aloud to take bags in so we tried to see if Mak could take her injections in her small shoulder bag but they werent so keen on the idea and said just to put one in her pocket!!! so we didnt look round, instead i ran in quickly took a few pics and then we headed back to Waikiki. I decided to hire and surfboard for an hour and have a quick surf which was really fun, although it was quite far to paddle out and you had to be carful where and how you fell off your board as t was shallow in some places with rocks :s but i survived with just a few bruises from jumpig on my board and kneeling on it!
In the evening we wondered round the shops for a bit and then went back to our room where it was nice and quite for a change but then our roommates came back high and drunk and were really loud and just generally horrible :( They left again and then we decied that we couldn't stay in that room anymore as we didnt feel completely comfortable and they were always out partying! so we slept on it.

In the morning we moved rooms :D and then got the bus to Hanauma Bay (this is the pic for this blog entry) It was formed from a volcano crater and is really good for snokling :) We sat on the beach for a while in our jumpers as it was quite cold and then braved it and went in the sea :) we saw loads of cool fish and swam between all the rocky reefs :)
we had some lunch and then got the bus back. Back in Waikiki I had some mango and we sat on the beach and decided to go to Ala Moana as there was meant to be a nice beach there and a shopping centre. When we got there we went straight ot the shopping centre, wondered round a bit then realised the time and had to go back to Waikiki. We didt even see the beach! That evening we just sat on the beach chatting :)

Woke up early on Thurs and I went for a surf before breakfast :) then quickly had breakfast while i dried off on the beach and then We got the bus to the North Shore :D it took almost 2hours :( but there was the possibility of a surf comp at pipeline :) we reached Pipeline to dicover the comp had been postponed as the waves werent big enough but apparently there is a swell coming in tommorro so they are having the comp nxt week :( so missed out on that but the waves were still quite big and there were a few people surfing :) so we sat and ate our lunch and watched the surfers and bodyboarders and took lots of photos. then we got the bus back to Huie'iwa where we went to the surf museum and had a milkshake in a cafe. On the way there we had past the famous Waimea Bay which i had expected to have some big waves but it was as flat as a pancake! Then we waited for the bus back and got rather wet in the freak rain shower bu i was ok as it produced an amazing rainbow :) On the way back we got off the bus at Ala Moana again and grabbed some food then it was back to the hostel and bed!

On Friday we got the bus to the Manoa Valley where we were able to walk to the Manoa Falls. It was a mile walk up there through the forest by the river/stream and the path was rather wet and muddy as it had rained in the morning so by the time we reached the Falls we had muddy feet as flip flops arent the best for keeping the mud out! we took some pics and then it started to rain again! so we went back down, by thi point we were sliding around in our flip flops so took them off and walked the rest of the way back bare footed and then washed our feet and flip flops in the stream at the bottom. We then waited over half and hour for the bus, we got it back to Ala Moana and decided to go to the beach there. It was a really nice beach and realitively quite incomparison to Waikiki so we spent the rest of the afternoon there swiming and sunbathing :)

Today we spent most of the day on Waikiki beach. I was going to go for a surf but it was really crowded and quite flat so instead i had 2 swims :) then we went back and had a shower and packed our stuff then wondered round the shops for one last time. We are about to go to bed as we are being picked up at 4am tommorrow to get to the airport as our flight is at 7! We have had an amazing time here in hawaii and dont want to leave but at the same time we are looking forward to more beachness in Fiji :)
