Well, it's 30 days til lift off and we are all pretty excited. The major decisions have been made and there are just little details left to do such as purusing pub sites and potatoe choices. We are all flying together to London and then piciking up a jumper to Shannon. There we will get our cross-over which will be our charriot for the next week or so ultimately ending in Dublin.
It has been amazing how many people we have met over the past few months that either travel frequently to Ireland, have lived in Ireland or have family/friends in Ireland. They seem to have one thing in common....they LOVE Ireland and they love to share their memories and recommendations. Just last week while Mike was in Bakersfield doing his "retirement" thing he was at his favorite eartery, Eureka, practicing beer drinking and sampling potaotes when he met a young traveler who visits Ireland regularly. Sooo Mike took a piece of paper from his pocket to record the fella's "must sees" adding to our growing collection.
Please notice and appreciate the wee picture of an Irish lamb shown above. It was sent to me by the grandparents of a wee three year old charmer with whom I have been doing therapy this year. He and his family are transplants from Ireland...."the whole lot of them" as his mother says. They are here in Montecito for four years as the clan's father has a special work assignment. It has been a pleasure to visit with them weekly and be surrounded by their lovely brogue and colorful speechisms, some of which I understand. His mother has given me lots of advice for which I am grateful. I always leave their home wanting more. I shared the outline of our trip and she declared we are "in fine tune"!
Now if we can just find that pot of gold.....
