We got an early-ish start and again hit the back roads. For the most part it was small towns and agricultural land. On one farm we saw an Amish woman standing on a plow pulled by a pair of asses plowing a field. We stopped at a couple of state parks. Sept 16 It's been another gorgeous sunny day spent driving through lots of trees, max temp around 30, dropping to low 20's as it got later. We took a circuitous route past streams & lakes some of which looked like ideal moose territory but despite signs warning they were about we didn't spot any. We slept well and woke to sunny blue skies with temps in the low 30's, very nice :-) After scrambled eggs and coffee in our room we set off with few real plans. Out of Boston heading for the sea we found several quite nice sandy beaches, gentle waves lapping the shore. We got packed up, washed the sheets and towels, remade the bed and set off about 11am. We took the long way around sticking close to the coast where we could passing very nice neighbourhoods, some with spectacular homes and lovely little beaches. We had a bit of a walk at West Haven Beach where several people were fishing. There are some gorgeous little towns and classic New England scenery, the ocean and lighthouses. Today was a huge day. We set off about 9am and walked the 15 mins to the local railway station to get the train to Manhattan. It took just under an hour and a half to get to Grand Central Station. We then walked the few blocks to H & B which is a massive electrical store, mostly camera, video equipment etc but also 3D printers and lots of other boy toys.
