As I enter into my final day in Australia, it's time to reflect on a fantastic last few days.
Friday evening was my first experience of watching an AFL game. It was a top four clash of the Carlton Blues vs Hawthorn Hawkes at the Etihad arena in Melbourne city centre.
I had to side with one team, as I'm used to supporting underdogs being a Forest fan, I chose the Carlton Blues. Whichever team I sided with were bound to lose, so sorry Carlton fans!
The match was a great experience. A sport which was alien to me and I really got into it. Being in a stadium with 52,000 people makes for a great atmosphere whatever the match.
On Saturday Jimmy's friends hosted a BBQ which was great fun. I also managed to put a shrimp on the barby (another thing to tick off the list).
Yesterday was all about getting over the night before after a 1pm - 4am session. Last night was time to wave goodbye to Jimmy as he proceeds with his journey to KL.
His family are kind to let me stay till my flight tomorrow morning. Today I'm getting a guided tour of the City by Jimmy's dad John.
I'll be rounding off my Australian adventure with a visit to Neighbours night tonight. Apparently Karl Kennedy's band plays. It should be good fun, all be it cheesy! Next up is a flight to LA tomorrow.
