So the time as come to move on once again as I prepare to board my flight from Brisbane to Melbourne.
The last two days have been just as entertaining as the previous two.
On Monday I made a trip to Keperra to visit my great uncle Bob. He's 87 years old and is unbelievable for his age. He still drives which means he is very much an independent person.
He took me to walkabout creek which is a wildlife park which consists of various species such as kangaroos and wombats.
Next on the agenda was a trip up to Mount Coot-tha which provided a panoramic lookout of the city.
We went to Sizzlers for dinner which is basically a steak house with a 'help yourself' salad bar. I don't think I've ever eaten as much in my life!
I got the train back at 8pm. I'd only planned to stay there half an hour but ended up being there 7 hours! I'm sure my great uncle was pleased with the company and it was really nice to meet a relative that I've never met before.
Yesterday I decided it was time to do the stereotypical tourist attraction in Australia and hold a Koala bear. I did this at Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary.
I held a 7 year old Koala bear called Theresa. While not as cuddly as one would expect, they are quite fascinating animals.
In addition to the Koala, I held a 3m python called Calamata and a baby croc called Wickham.
The whole experience didn't come cheap, however it's certainly a must to tick off the to-do list and I have some great photos to remember the experience.
I've had a highly enjoyable stay in Brisbane and it has been great to catch up with my friend Fellaini.
Unfortunately I have to move on and Melbourne will be half the temperature. On the plus side I get to stay with Jimmy, another friend I worked with in London. He has recently got engaged to his girlfriend Mish which means there's a stag do round the corner!! I'm really looking forward to catching up with him.
