Six Months Baby
We arrived in Arequipa just at the right time as it was their annual festival, so the place was a bit mad. Arequipa had this lovley plaza in the centre on town where everything was happening. We found a nice hostel which had a garden and as the weather was so good we spent our first few day sunning it up just so we dont look out of place in england when we come back. But once it hit the weekend the place went even madder, the streets were full of partying peruvian and we could let them down so went out and had a great night getting well and truly drunk with this group of peruvian men called Emile, carlos oh well i cant remember the other but they were a good laugh drinking pisco which tasted like tequila mixed with white wine lethal stuff. I ended up losing dan and matt they went off with carlos to another bar and ended up in another bar with emile, getting chatted up by 4 peruvians, it was like being famous, you can guess i was loving it. It was really good night partying in the streets, playing a footy game in the streets with everyone in a reaaly joyus mood.
The festival carried on for the rest of the weekend with loads of parades through the streets and all. On another day we visited a monastery which was a whole little village which was quite cultured and nice. Then we went on a little adventure to a place called Colca Canyon which took two days. Sadly we sat in a coach for the whole two days and just got out to see the sights which we were a bit disappointed by as we thought it was a walking trekk, any who, we eventually got to see the canyon which was pretty amazing with some Condors flying around, beautiful bird and they are huge.
We got back from our tour and then it was time to head off to cuzco our last stop before home and the home of the inca trail, bring it on.
