Hej! Had a great weekend out in the djungle. We went early on Saturday morning in a miniminimini bus and around 40 minutes in the back of a pickup truck. My bony bum got some pounding... Arrived at this community on the other side of Santa Maria volcano. Whenever you looked up you had this amazing view of the volcano. Got to se my first erruption on htte way there. On Saturday we went hiking in hte forrest/djungle and looked at all the different plants they use as medicine. Had a great lunch and enjoyed the hammocks on hte veranda and the noice of cikades(? cikador in Swedish I think). We got explained the story of the community on how they were able to get a loan and buy the land to continue producing coffee. Good coffee was served but they don't really use milk here, just milkpowder so I drink black coffe from now on. Bought some maccadamians that got into my belly very fast, they were delicious. Sat up playing cards and got eaten by mosquitos until the light went out. On Sunday we had another walk into more the djungle part and just relaxed in the sun with a book. The rest of the week has ben very busy. Teaching at La cochia on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Kids are betwen 7 and ten I think and don't get much English or art so that's why we are there. Kids are adorable, especially this girl named Marta which has become a little bit of a favorite of mine, even though thats not allowed... On Wednesdays we go to a different school and have English with teenagers. Almost all of their education is by tv and video and they don't have real teachers. Very strange system. Tomorrow we are performing a puppettheatre about recycling and the nature. Having loads of fun but very tired. Think I have to slow down next wek so I have time to study. Went to a yoga class yesterday. Was really nice so I bought a monthly card for 100 quetzales (around 100 kr). In Ireland you would pay 150 Q for one time. Have also got a new friend (I call him amigo). It's a stray dog that follows me home every day after school. I will try to upload some pics tomorrow. Have tried all week but there is always something that goes wrong. Oh by the way it sems that my phone now does work. Dad called me yesterday for a few minutes, not great reception but it worked. A tip would be to buy some skype credit and call from that because I would reckon it's much cheaper. Trying to rebook my ticket to fly from San Jose in Costa Rica instead. Do not have time to travlee down to Brazil I'm afraid. Have to make another trip to SouthAmerica another time. I will let you what the final plan is. Miss you all ! Puss puss and mera pussar.
