Very suddenly the winter has arrived. Seemed like overnight we went from hot days and nights to heavy fog and cold. Whilst we are prepared, we are reluctant! As I sit here writing this at 2.00 in the afternoon, the fog is still around. Quite strange and it has been like this for the last three days. Yesterday on impulse we headed to the new Marriott Hotel for lunch. Oh bliss! Bacon! Our house is above our landlords home and he is Brahmin caste, vegetarian, so cooking meat if definitely not on. There are very few non veg restaurants here but we are searching them out! We have bought a toasted sandwich maker, double gas ring, fry pan, saucepan and the piece de resistance, a small electric toaster oven so I can do a little baking. Roast vegies are my specialty after toasted cheese tomato and onion sandwiches! Most veggies are available, potatoes carrots pumpkin beans peas cauliflower cabbage eggplant onions garlic herbs and some things I have no idea about.
