Day 19
Steve: "Urrrggh, what time is it?"
Daley: "Erm, about eleven thirty."
Steve: "Excellent, another day successfully wasted. How long have you been up?"
Daley: "Got up about half seven, mate."
Steve: "Oh do f*** off."
Travelling is starting to feel a lot like University. Meet new people-become best of friends-go and get very, very drunk.
After finally dragging myself out of bed, Daley and I booked our train tickets to Beijing. Another joyful experience with Chinese customer service, resulting in two more hard seat tickets for the 13 hour journey. Thoroughly unsatisfied with that outcome, we went to a local market to buy some presents and then back to the hostel to meet up with Brittany and Luke for a bike ride around the top of the city walls. I was in for a bit of a shock when we got up there as I hadn't expected the top of the wall to be cobbled, nor had I expected it to be a 13.7km round trip but we got some fantastic views of the sun setting over the city.
So, today in summary: Woke up hungover. Never recovered. Paid for the privilege of walking like John Wayne for the next two days. Lovely.
