We travelled again by taxi from our Auberge to Gordes - what incredibly narrow streets and courteous drivers. I am quoting from parts of our itinerary now...
Gordes is a village clinging to the southern face of the high Vaucluse plateau. Above which is a 16th century castle.... End of quote.
It is market day and what a delight to the eye and the nostrils. I found a beautiful tablecloth and placemats the much sort after oil of lavendar named lavande essentially for medicinal purposes and the other oil named lavandin used for perfume and soaps which i havent yet purchased.
You should see the size of the cheeses and assortment ( see photos) and nougat ( yum) and spices and herbs (what an amazing assortment & aromas in that part of the market), breads and meats. Today we had to buy our own picnic what a explosion of choice. We even saw the much sort after truffles and what an aroma to excite the senses; rather a contrast to there appearance, small clumps of dirt
