Hello Guys,
Well we finally arrived on Tuesday after a mentally long flight with some cracking entertainment the 17 hours just flew by. Once we landed at Kuala Lumpur we followed the plan and jumped in a taxi for about 13 quid, bargain really! and he picked us up the next day for 2 pound more. Once we got to the hotel we did not really achieve much arrived at 2, asleep by 2.30 awoke at midnight with a mentally loud clap of thunder then woke again at 6.30 the next day, jet lag sorted, and Thailand awaited.
Krabi Town is the first stop in our tour, we arrived by shuttle bus on a hot and clammy afternoon, with the bus was packed with people like us, however their tans suggested they had been on the go slightly longer. The driver shouted out "red ticket khadi karn" in English "red ticket thank you" with that we stood and our bags were placed outside the bus and off they went. "oh s***, so what do we do now" were our first thoughts but we soon found refuge after a little hunting and price asking in a little guest house called K guest house, all very clean and spacious so the job was done.
Off we went down the road chatting to people as we went to see where they had been to get an idea of the place and we found a nice little cafe where w I had my first Pad Thai, "it was an organism in my mouth, enough said". Afterwards we strolled down to the port (Tha Kong Ka) where we got roped in to a 2 hr boat tour around the mangroves of Krabi, but in the end it was worth every penny and more. We got to see the first images of the awesome rock formations of which Krabi province is famous for and then we fed a whole array of fish, from the classic puffer fish to the vicious snapper fish, the pictures will tell the story. On our return we spotted a family of monkeys, as we went for a closer look our driver soon changed his mind as they tried to invade the boat and god only knows what would have happened if that would have occurred, Rachel jumping over the side for starters.
As evening fell and we both had chilled in the room for a bit we wandered back down towards the port where the famous Krabi street night food market was performing a raring trade, 15 to 20 stalls all serving up small Thai dishes at stupidly low prices, we were in heaven. The next hour was spent sampling some Thai dishes to delicious to describe they really have to been tasted in person. After all this Rach was shattered and took to hay for the night, I decided to head back off towards Krabi town central where I met a couple of lads from Reading, we sat in a funky little bar just off the main strip and settled in for the night, 3 Singa beers that was that for the night.
