Day 4
The day started as I would expect, Rachel jumping out of bed just before 7, "come on get up cant waste the day", "7 months Rachel" I replied. We went straight out for breakfast down a small cafe and on our return collected our bags and hoped on a long tail boat to Railay, situated just along the coast from Krabi town it is a 45 min boat ride along the coast. As we arrived we jumped out of the boat still 20 meters from shore and got soaked in a bizarre muddy marsh area of sea with mangroves at every angle. Then the fun started, we wondered aimlessly for a little bit trying to find a place to stay, we got chatting to two Norwegian lads who were in the same boat. We all started walking away from the shore knowing that it would probably be cheaper the further inland we went, but seriously we went on a hike and a half. We walked the best part of 4km up rocky terrain and steep slopes, I mean I sweat when I pick up a broom at work, you can only imagine the flood I caused. Once we found a place just off Ton Salin beach we soon dumped the bags and shot off down to the beach for a well deserved cool off.
In to the afternoon we met up with the two lads we had hiked with earlier in the day, we were invited to join them in the hunt for a small beach to the east of Railay, the beach is known for its high priced accommodation at one thousand pound a night! Obviously we just thought that we would save our money for another day. The trip involved climbing up the rock formations of Krabi and sliding down the tree stumps torn down by the monsoon winds we came across a number of spectacular sights and views, eventually we arrived at this small picturesque beach, well deserving of its title as one of Thailand's best beaches. As the evening drew in we sat and admired the sun falling into the sea illuminating the sky ruby red in its decent.
