After an eventful night in the hills of Railay, we left the sounds of nature behind and set off for Ko Phi Phi. To get there we hopped on board a long tail boat which took us to a small ferry sitting just off shore to start the hour long journey down the Andaman coast. On arrival to Phi Phi we were greeting by lots of touts on the pier wanting to drag us off left right and centre, but as advised by our travel bible we ploughed straight through them to find our own way. As temperatures soared and the sweat poured we found a room in a place called 'The Rock', a backpacker's haven. We grabbed the last room for 600 baht and set off to the beach where we spent the rest of the day chilling out.
As the evening drew in, we showered in what could only be described as sewage water and made our way out down the bustling markets of Phi Phi. Although many places were shut due to the king's birthday we managed to grab dinner at a small cafe where we watched the celebrations on TV with the locals. The day closed in 007 bar where chilled with a couple of beers and watched the night go by.

As dawn broke we started the day slowly, struggling to get out of bed we laid in to gone ten. When we eventually moved we set off on the steep climb to Phi Phi's viewpoint where we were told the view was amazing. As expected we followed the tsunami evacuation route up a long rocky path with hundreds of concrete steps, as we clambered our way to the top we crossed paths with a colony of ants which totally blew our ants nests away at home. Completely out numbered we moved on where we were eventually greeted with a stunning view over looking the sand bar where Phi Phi's tourist industry is booming. Taking in to account the fact that this was the area most devastated by the Tsunami of 2004 it has recovered amazingly, although the damage is still visible and the building work is still on going the island has picked itself up to where it once was. While recovering at the summit we met two Aussie lads from Brisbane, two top lads who were well in to family guy so the conversation and laughter flowed freely.
Once back at the bottom the lads invited us to join them at a little cafe they had found where only Pad Thai was on the menu. I mean this little place was the back of someone's home flies buzzing around everywhere, quite frankly a bit of a dive, however all this aside the Pad Thai kicked ass and will probably be quite hard to beat. As rain set in for the afternoon we found a small bar and played connect 4 for a couple of hours watching the world go by. Come evening we decided not to shower and set off for what would turn out to be an eventful night of beer, tequila and Thai buckets. After haggling for a price of a lady boy we made our way to the beach party with a lad we met on the plane from London and the Aussie lads from the view point. The night was immense but the hangover was mental, enough said!
