Richmond 2/9/15

Oh so dry, not a blade of grass from Burke and Wills Roadhouse to Julia Creek, but these little townships have such sustaining enthusiasm and pride in their surrounds and ever so friendly, always time to chat. Overall, the roads / highways are very good out here, in much better condition than the Bruce Highway!! The landscape is very reminiscent of the Darling Downs, miles and miles of plains, not a mountain or even a hill in sight and very few trees just grassland. A little more interesting viewing , offering some ranges between Julia Ck and Richmond. Richmond is a vibrant little town also with an enthusiastic community with well maintained buildings and gardens. Kronosaurus Korner Museum is the towns big attraction. The museum is very well appointed and informative displaying many complete dinosaur fossils one of which is the Kronosaurus discovered in the local area which ,thousands of years ago, was once a sea bed. Consequently, many shell, fish and turtle fossils have been discovered and are on display.
