Brisbane 8/5/15

Time to catch up with Carmen and Parents at the Gold Coast. Arrived into Brisbane in the afternoon and Carmen had made a reservation at Alchemy Restaurant , Eagle St on the Brisbane River. Enjoyed the food while sitting riverside, but the weather took a turn for the worst and came it came in quite chilly. We ventured inside after an unusual dessert was on offer. Being marshmallows and black Forrest cake dipped into liquid nitrogen giving the most bazaar sensation to eating - cold obviously and steaming from our nostrils like dragons. It was Mother's Day that weekend and I was treated to a special champagne breakfast on board the wheel at Southbank. What great weather that morning, perfect viewing to the ranges and a bird's eye view of Brisbane combined with good company. The breakfast was silver service, fine china presented on a white linen starched cloth on board a gondola to ourselves. We travelled to Surfers Paradise on the Mondayfor the day and Spen ,Sandra, and ourselves met Carl for lunch at a Budd's Beach cafe. It has been great catching up with all the family across Australia when at first we thought it would be almost twelve months and Christmas before we would see them again.
