Day 1

So we got up for at 8am ready to leave Rainforest Retreat at 9am. We headed to Wanaka with a bus load of people. Our bus is awesome we have really got to know everyone on there, we were like one big family. The bus journey to Wanaka was cool, everyone was really happy and we were all singing to our 'bus songs'. Our first stop along the way was at Lake Matheson where we went on a little hike to see the mirror reflection of the Mt Cook and the Southern Alps in the Lake. It was absolutely stunning..... again we took photos!!

After our lunch stop off we then crossed the bridge at Gates of Haast adn headed up through Mount Aspring, the views were amazing. The drives through Wananka were very picturesque, it was a lovely little town. As soon as we arrived we checked into a little hostel right near the Lake. To be fair it was more like a hotel the rooms were really nice. Once we had checked in we then went for a look around the shops beofre having fish and chips outside on the lawn of the hotel. It was cool, both buses were sat outside chilling and talking. It was a good laugh we all just had a couple fo beers and then had an early night ready for the drive to Queenstown for a big night out! :-)
