As I had to return to Uyuni to get back to Bolivia and my first visit to the salt flats had been so disappointing I decided to give it another go. So after a night's sleep in Uyuni I jumped back into a 4x4 and headed off to the salt flats - obviously I was gutted to be without my camera but I had my phone and was hopeful for better weather this time. Luckily, the weather was much better and the salt flats were stunning as I'd hoped they would be. Looking out over the salt flats when they are wet is amazing - it's difficult to tell where the sky begins and ends - it really was awesome. I'm so glad I opted to return to give it another go! If you look at my pictures bear in mind that they were taken by a pretty crap camera phone! Satisfied that I had seen the salt flats I left Uyuni for Tupiza.
