Ok...So I havn't left yet. But I thought I'd get this up and running so I could give you the low down of what it's like pre-travelling.
I'm still at Hotel Jubilee (Big house in Salford) enjoying the mental activities and the sleepless nights (i dont own a bed). I am becoming increasingly fond of it and my flat mates.
I'm in the process of getting my visas sorted. The chinease one is done and I've recently sent off for the Russian one, however there's a postal strike at the moment so the application form is going nowhere. I still need to get the Mongolian one aswell. Time is ticking. It's frustrating when you send off for a visa as you can only do one at a time due to the embassy having hold of your one and only passport. Word of advice for future travellers-send off for them early. It takes 15-20 days to get the Russian one.
I have given up alchol in order for me to save (apart from at Alex's birthday where I publically apolagise for my appalling behaviour and falling asleep in the toilets). I think may have had too much wine.
I'm working at every opportunity I get for two part time jobs in order to earn some extra much needed cash.
I should be counting the days down toward my journey, however there's no time to relax. I still need to buy a back pack, get some more vaccinations, sell the car and get an Ipod (mum- hint hint). The grinch will probably get me a dud one but its the thought that counts.
I don't feel nervous or scared about travelling at the moment. I dont even get butterflies in my stomach when I think of it, however I know when I get to Heathrow it will be a different story and i'll be petrified.
I need to remember today as it's taken me ages to set this website up.
